- Selection is based on a written test and relevant work experience
- The written test will be of 2 hours’ duration with 100 MCQs across 5 sections/components, maximum marks 100
- Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for every wrong answer
- Final merit = 80% weightage of written test marks + marks for relevant work experience (maximum 20 marks)
- Experience marks are awarded on a graded scale, from 1 mark for every completed 3 months up to a maximum of 20 marks for 5 years or more of relevant experience
- Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for Unreserved category, 35% for all reserved categories
- The written test will be conducted only in Chandigarh
- Test medium: English, except questions on Punjabi language
- In case of a tie in final score, the older candidate is ranked higher
